Did you know eating when you’re really hungry is one of the worst things you can possibly do for your health?

When we go too long  between meals, we are more likely to make poorer food choices. Hence, we are more apt to choose  bill of fare based on convenience instead of nutritional value. What’s more,  not only do we tend to eat unhealthy foods, but we tend to eat too fast and too much.

Unfortunately, many of us busy people eat “if” and “whenever” we find the time.

Convenience should not dictate when to eat, but it still plays a major role in determining when we eat. For example, how many times have you said, “I can’t eat right now… I’m too busy?”

If you’re like, us then probably almost everyday. Right?

“Proper” eating should be a priority for all of us. You really need to establish a set schedule for eating. The same way that you make time for day to day activities, duties, chores, and other obligations, you must make time to eat right.

Get yourself a small hourly calendar that you can keep in your purse, attache case, or pocket, and “pencil in” your mealtimes. You don’t necessarily need to keep a food diary. However, writing down when and what you’ll eat will help you immensely.

Before we leave you with that thought, let’s just clarify something here. Don’t confuse appetite with feeling hungry. It is  good to have an appetite when you eat. It is also good for you to enjoy eating and enjoy your meal. But, it is not good to wait until you feel like your “starving” and that you’re so hungry you’ll eat anything.

Bon appétit!
